James Stapp Sr performed Patriotic Service in North Carolina in the American Revolution.

• James Stapp was built-in in 1733. James served as a Corporal (May 1779) in the Albemarle Guards Regiment during the American Revolutionary War.

• Parents: Joshua Stipp 1688 - 1783 and Martha Elizabeth "Patsy" (Coffey_ Stipp 1690 - 1778.

• Spouse: Lucy (Gholston) Stapp 1734 - 1795. They were married in 1753 in Spotsylvania, Virginia, British Colonial America.

• Children: 17 Children are listed on the FamilySearch site listed below. They were born from 1752 to 1791.

• Inventory of Estate dated i/6/1795: 1 negro man named Daniel. 1 negro woman named Creesy (or Creasy).
